Basketball Recap: North Vermilion Extends Winning Streak to 21

North Vermilion had already won 20 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it 21 on Friday. They blew past the Comeaux Spartans, posting a 53-13 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 22 points or more this season.

North Vermilion pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.9 points per game. As for Comeaux, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

North Vermilion will head out to challenge Barbe at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Barbe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully North Vermilion likes a good challenge. Comeaux has already played their next matchup (against Northside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
