New Milford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kelvin Mendoza, who scored six points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Esposito, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
New Milford struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
New Milford's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for New Fairfield, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
New Milford will head out on the road to square off against Cheshire at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (New Milford is ranked 144th, while Cheshire is ranked 148th). As for New Fairfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Abbott RVT at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
