The Northbridge Rams will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Millbury Woolies at 5:00 p.m. on February 12th. Northbridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Millbury is ranked 29th).
Northbridge lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 64-40 loss to Tantasqua Regional might stick with them for a while. Northbridge has not had much luck with Tantasqua Regional recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Millbury entered their tilt with Grafton with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Millbury secured a 52-47 W over Grafton on Friday.
It was another big night for Kenny Donnelly, who scored 24 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Millbury's points. Anthony Phillipo was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Northbridge dropped their record down to 7-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Millbury, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Northbridge was taken down by Millbury 63-31 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Donnelly, who scored 25 points. Now that Northbridge knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
