After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rocky Mount Academy, the Faith Christian Patriots were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-45 win over Halifax Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Faith Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Faith Christian had a senior duo take command as Gavin Johnson scored 17 points and Michael Grant scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Johnson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Arby Bell, who scored eight points.
Halifax Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Landon Peoples, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Boone, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Faith Christian's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Halifax Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-19 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Halifax Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
