On Friday Mount Vernon take on Justice at 7:00 PM. Mount Vernon have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Justice are surely hoping to exploit.
Mount Vernon were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their contest against Hayfield last Friday. Mount Vernon took a hard 18-34 fall against Hayfield. Mount Vernon's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Fonnae Webb, who picked up 130 yards on the ground and accumulated 175 passing yards. If you haven't heard Webb's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.
Meanwhile, Justice made easy work of Edison and carried off a 27-3 victory. Followers of Justice probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Justice's win lifted them to 5-1 while Mount Vernon's defeat dropped them down to 5-1. We'll find out if Justice can add another positive mark to their record or if Mount Vernon can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Justice's step.
