Softball Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Sets Scoring Season-High Against A.C. Flora

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lugoff-Elgin). They won by a run and slipped past the A.C. Flora Falcons 14-13. The victory was some much needed relief for the Demons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kayley Lynch was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Starcher, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Lugoff-Elgin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lugoff-Elgin's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for A.C. Flora, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-2 record.

Coming up, Lugoff-Elgin will venture away from home to take on Ridge View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge View has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.67 runs per game on average), something Lugoff-Elgin will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for A.C. Flora, they will host Gray Collegiate Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
