Basketball Recap: Sean Tisdall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brandeis over Clark

Brandeis was the 76-51 winner over Clark when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Brandeis Broncos took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clark Cougars on Tuesday.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sean Tisdall, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 16 points. Tisdall has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last six times he's played. Karmen Gonzales was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points.

Even though they lost, Brandeis was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clark only posted eight assists.

It was another big night for Jaden Flemons, who went 11 of 15 on his way to 25 points and five boards for Clark. That makes it three consecutive games in which Flemons has scored at least a third of Clark's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Jones, who posted ten points.

Brandeis' loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Clark, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Brandeis and Clark should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Brandeis (ranked 184th) will meet Madison (ranked 592nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Brandeis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.4 points per game this season. Similarly, Clark (ranked 102nd) will meet SA Roosevelt (ranked 245th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
