The King William Cavaliers lost against the Middlesex Chargers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. King William took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Middlesex. King William has not had much luck with Middlesex recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middlesex to victory, but perhaps none more so than JaQuan Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kellen Layne, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
King William's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Middlesex, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
King William won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mathews at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Middlesex, they will be playing at home against Carver College and Career Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Carver College and Career Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
