Arlington and JW North are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Arlington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so JW North's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Arlington's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Hillcrest. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Hillcrest's batters probably weren't too happy with Itzel Hernandez, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Hernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Arlington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Cortez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Delany Perez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, JW North came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Cougars 12-6. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Natalie Munoz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, JW North let Lily Hiraoka and Xochitl Frias run wild. Hiraoka went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Frias went 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Frias has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrina Camacho, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and five RBI.
JW North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Arlington pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for JW North, their record now sits at 15-9.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Arlington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like JW North struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Arlington beat JW North 4-0 when the teams last played on April 10th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
