After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bayard, the Perkins County Plainsmen were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Sandhills Valley 55-19 on the road. Perkins County pushed the score to 37-17 by the end of the third, a deficit Sandhills Valley had little chance of recovering from.
Perkins County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Libby Cole, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Cole has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Cook, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Perkins County's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Sandhills Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-20.
Perkins County will face off against St. Patrick's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Perkins County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. Sandhills Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
