Given Franklin County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Bardstown is ranked 48th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Duri Trahan, who threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cohen Taylor, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Franklin County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Johnathan Griffin was the leader with three sacks.
Meanwhile, Boyle County beat Corbin 21-14 on Friday.
Their wins bumped Franklin County to 13-0 and Bardstown to 8-5.
