After four games on the road, Langley is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Robinson Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Langley took a serious blow against South Lakes, falling 68-34. While losing is never fun, Langley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while South Lakes is ranked 12th).
Meanwhile, Robinson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 60-51 to Woodson. Robinson has not had much luck with Woodson recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Scott Van antwerp, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Matteen Rahim was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Langley bumped their record down to 1-3 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Robinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Langley beat Robinson 74-65 in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Does Langley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Robinson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
