Baseball Recap: Overhills Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Overhills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Scotland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Fighting Scots with a sharp 11-1 win on Wednesday. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Overhills got a great performance from Brendon Blumenauer as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Blumenauer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aaron Frink, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kolt Berry, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Overhills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Scotland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overhills will welcome Westover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Jaguars' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Wolverines have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Scotland, they will host Pinecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
