Valentine were the 47-45 winner over the West Holt Huskies when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Valentine took a hard 46-27 fall against West Holt on Monday. It was the first time this season that Valentine let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why Valentine lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kinsey Buechle. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals. Buechle has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Valentine's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for West Holt, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Valentine won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gordon-Rushville at 5:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Gordon-Rushville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. West Holt will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] on January 5, 2024.
