Hillsboro is 10-0 against Litchfield since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Hillsboro Hiltoppers will head out on the road to face off against the Litchfield Purple Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hillsboro has five straight wins, Litchfield has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Hillsboro was able to grind out a solid victory over Nokomis, taking the game 50-40.
Hillsboro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tatum Christian out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amya Greenwood, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Litchfield lost to Vandalia on the road by a decisive 61-45 margin on Thursday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Chloe Law, who scored 18 points. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Diveley, who scored 16 points.
Hillsboro's victory lifted them to 5-5 while Nokomis' defeat dropped them down to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Hillsboro against Litchfield when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 53-16 win. Does Hillsboro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Litchfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
