The Payson Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Springville Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Springville will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Payson extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Lions put the hurt on Pleasant Grove with a sharp 15-9 win.
Aydrie Christensen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Christensen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Anna Marvin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Payson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Springville got the win against Wasatch on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Allyx Haveron made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Haveron was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Springville got a big performance out of Jaz Ciliezar, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Addi Crandall also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Payson's record is now 12-9. As for Springville, their record now sits at 16-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Payson hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Springville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Payson suffered a grim 19-6 defeat to Springville in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
