After a string of five wins, the Neuwirth Leadership Academy Boxers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 46-39 to New Designs University Park. Neuwirth Leadership Academy lost against New Designs University Park in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-31 score last time.
New Designs University Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Cerrato, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Barajas, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Neuwirth Leadership Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for New Designs University Park, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Neuwirth Leadership Academy will challenge Maywood CES at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Maywood CES is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. New Designs University Park will be home for the holidays to greet WISH Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. WISH Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.6 points per game.
