Kilton Anderson threw two touchdowns and ran for two more as
Naples (Fla.) beat Island Coast (Cape Coral, Fla.) 45-7 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Manny Morgan touchdown run in the first quarter, the Golden Eagles led 21-7 at the half.
Naples expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. NHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Morgan touchdown run.
Even though the Golden Eagles led by 24 points entering the fourth quarter, they poured the points on, scoring 14 in the fourth.
The Gators' Devon Calhoun played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
Island Coast's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Calhoun in the second quarter.
Naples went into the matchup giving up only 12.3 points per game. IC's seven points were well below its season average of 37.0 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Island Coast, which notched a 42-17 victory over Cape Coral in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Cape Coral school's 2-game winning streak.
