The Lynn Bears came tearing into Tuesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 82-43 victory over Phillips. Lynn's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Cale Tittle, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Braylen Roberts was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Lynn pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Phillips, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Lynn will head out on the road to square off against Marion County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marion County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Phillips won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Winfield at 5:00 p.m. on January 24th. Winfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Phillips in Alabama (Winfield is ranked 154th, while Phillips is ranked 420th).
