VISTA, Calif. -
Vista (Calif.) put up three points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 30-7 victory over
El Camino (Oceanside, Calif.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Nate Johnson in the first quarter, the Panthers led 17-0 at the half.
Vista grew its lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. VHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Maximo Cabahug III to Johnson.
El Camino's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by
Adam Baker in the third quarter.
Coming into the game the Panthers had allowed 28.9 points per game this year.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Wildcats took, 35-10.
The win was a nice bounce back for Vista, which lost to La Costa Canyon last week, 21-7.
Vista (2-7) will play a Avocado - West game against Carlsbad next week, while El Camino (4-5) will take on Oceanside also in a Avocado - West game.
