The College Park Cavaliers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 37-27 to Oak Ridge. College Park lost against Oak Ridge in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-7 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why College Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Conner Dunphy. Despite the final result, he picked up 240 receiving yards and a touchdown. Dunphy's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. Another player making a difference was Rodrigo Bravo jr, who threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
College Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Oak Ridge, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
College Park will head out on the road to face off against New Caney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Caney is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Oak Ridge will take on Caney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caney Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 601st, while Oak Ridge is ranked 189th).
