Van and Carthage squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Van had to settle for second. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Vandals' loss signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Van saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Mccurley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Van's defeat dropped their record down to 28-7-1. As for Carthage, their record now sits at 15-12-1.

While Van had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
