Natalia is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Wolves a ten-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Natalia Mustangs will take on the Dilley Wolves at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Natalia has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
A well-balanced attack led Natalia over the Cowboys in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Natalia put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 49-29 victory.
Natalia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yahdi Lujan, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Lujan hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Anaya Jones, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Dilley was beaten by the Pirates 94-17 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Dilley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1556th, while the Pirates are ranked 365th).
Natalia's victory bumped their record up to 11-20. As for Dilley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-26.
Everything came up roses for Natalia against the Wolves in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 54-24 victory. Does Natalia have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
