Cranston East suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 69-39 loss at the hands of Chariho. While losing is never fun, Cranston East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Chariho is ranked fourth).
The losing side was boosted by Mya Jiminez, who scored 25 points. That was a full 64.1% of Cranston East's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Cumberland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-45 bruising from Moses Brown. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cumberland in their matchups with Moses Brown: they've now lost three in a row.
Cranston East has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Cumberland, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
