After flying high against the Mountain View Bears last Friday, the Collins Hill Eagles came back down to earth. Collins Hill took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central on Monday.
Despite the loss, Collins Hill still got an impressive performance from Paris Fillingame, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That was a full 47.8% of Collins Hill's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tamia Dawkins was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Collins Hill has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Central, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collins Hill will take on Buford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matches -- so hopefully Collins Hill likes a good challenge. Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Spencer at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Spencer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Saturday.
