James F. Byrnes faced Belton-Honea Path in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Rebels blew past the Bears 10-2. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

James F. Byrnes' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Belton-Honea Path, their loss ended a 23-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James F. Byrnes will host Eastside at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Belton-Honea Path, they will welcome Pendleton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Bulldogs will have lost six straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
