The Eastern Guilford Wildcats had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past Ben L. Smith 42-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Eastern Guilford, who have now won seven contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Javen Cole, who rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Cole is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Jones, who threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns.
Eastern Guilford's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Ben L. Smith, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Guilford will take on Dudley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dudley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Eastern Guilford likes a good challenge. As for Ben L. Smith, they will be playing at home against Northeast Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
