While losing is never fun, Coral Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) is ranked 199th).
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tony Guerrero, who scored 18 points along with eight assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Guerrero posted eight or more assists. Noah Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Coral Park bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coral Park won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Marathon at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Marathon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
