It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Green Level had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They strolled past the Clayton Comets with points to spare, taking the game 62-47. The victory was nothing new for the Gators as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Green Level's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trevor Manhertz led the charge by putting up ten points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Manhertz is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Ericksen, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points and eight boards.
Manhertz wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Green Level was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clayton only seven assists.
Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Grimes, who posted ten points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Mitchell, who scored eight points.
Green Level's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-4. As for Clayton, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 21-9 record.
Looking ahead, Green Level is taking a road trip to square off against New Hanover at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in New Hanover's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Clayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
