Jett Johnston was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Stratford Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Wooten, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Citizens Christian Academy won against First Preparatory Christian Academy on Wednesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Citizens Christian Academy didn't even let First Preparatory Christian Academy on the board, marking Citizens Christian Academy's second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Gray McLean made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). McLean was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. McLean is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonah Hall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Thomas Gentry was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Citizens Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Preparatory Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .200.
Citizens Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Stratford Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Stratford Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Citizens Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
