Schaumburg Christian and the Eagles are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors will head out on the road to challenge the Westlake Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Schaumburg Christian and six for the Eagles.
Schaumburg Christian fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Green Giants on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Giants. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Stephanie Tenuto, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carynton Hobson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Westlake Christian Academy took a serious blow against the Sobos last Wednesday, falling 47-16.
Schaumburg Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Westlake Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7.
Everything went Schaumburg Christian's way against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January as the Conquerors made off with a 47-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Schaumburg Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
