After a string of seven wins, the East Nashville Magnet Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were beaten by Middle Tennessee Christian 67-38.
Middle Tennessee Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Graham, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 0 assists. Those 31 points set a new season-high mark for her. Anna clay Shirley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
East Nashville Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
East Nashville Magnet won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Montverde Academy on December 29th. Montverde Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully East Nashville Magnet likes a good challenge. Middle Tennessee Christian is on the road again on Saturday and play against Beech at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th.
