Custer have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Red Cloud at 2:00 PM. Custer don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Custer put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything went their way against Pine Ridge as they made off with a 48-26 win. Custer were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Red Cloud beat Bennett County 28-24.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 4-2. In their victory, Custer relied heavily on junior Micaiah Grace, who rushed for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns. Red Cloud will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
