Luella and Stockbridge are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Luella Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Stockbridge Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Luella is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Luella was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Woodland. Luella has not had much luck with Woodland recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Zion.
Luella has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Stockbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
Luella strolled past Stockbridge when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 70-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Luella since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
