The Calais Blue Devils lost against the Southern Aroostook Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Calais took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southern Aroostook. Calais has not had much luck with Southern Aroostook recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Calais lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kate McPhee, who scored 15 points. McPhee scored a full 28.8% of Calais' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kaci Small, who scored 11 points.
Calais' defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Southern Aroostook, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Calais will be home for the holidays to greet Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Aroostook, they will head out on the road to face off against Katahdin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Katahdin is ranked 43rd, while Southern Aroostook is ranked 21st).
