The South View Tigers will face off against the East Columbus Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. South View will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
South View's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Douglas Byrd with a sharp 21-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Trey Ray and Isaiah Alford were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ray pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Alford tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Ray posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. At the plate, Ray went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Alford scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. South View is undefeated when Alford posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Ramsey, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Read, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
South View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, East Columbus hadn't done well against Whiteville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Gators came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolfpack, sneaking past 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Gators as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Khari Bowen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
South View's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for East Columbus, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
