The Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand Hilbert a 14-0 shutout on Thursday. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
Kiran Sanford was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Emma Schmidt was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Brouchoud, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and two doubles.
Mishicot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .630. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Reedsville on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Zephyrs haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Gabrielle Guerrero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, St. Mary Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Vogel, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Mishicot pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
St. Mary Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mishicot hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. It's a different story for St. Mary Catholic, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain Mishicot's hitters?
