4A Region III District 20 recap October 8, 2013
Ozen moved up to 454 from 613 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 20. The Panthers were able to move up by besting Vidor 41-21.
Nederland added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Livingston, 24-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Little Cypress-Mauriceville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Caleb Harley has thrown for 228 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Dalton Doyle has 14 catches for 240 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Port Neches-Groves takes on Beaumont Central. The Indians are currently in second, while the Jaguars are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Nederland takes on Little Cypress-Mauriceville. Larry Neumann's team has allowed 94 points this season, while the Bears have given up 82. The Bulldogs allowed 0 points last week as they bested the Lions.
Ozen made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,320 from 6,320. The advance stemmed from a 41-21 victory over the Pirates last week.
