Johann Mercado was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Elijah Buffaloe, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Timber Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Colonial fell victim to Boone and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Grenadiers in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost seven in a row.

Timber Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Colonial, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

Everything went Timber Creek's way against Colonial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Timber Creek made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Grenadiers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
