After only 22 points in their last game, the LaSalle Royal Lions made sure to put some points up on the board against the Avant Garde Academy Sharks on Friday. LaSalle breezed by Avant Garde Academy on the road to the tune of 69-14. That looming 69-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for LaSalle yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead LaSalle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Melissa Carrasco, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Caroline Barrabes was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
LaSalle's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Avant Garde Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaSalle will take on Don Soffer Aventura at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avant Garde Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Berean Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 16th. Berean Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Avant Garde Academy in Florida (Berean Christian is ranked 193rd, while Avant Garde Academy is ranked 657th).
