The James Madison Warhawks couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were the victim of a tough 56-31 loss at the hands of Gainesville on Saturday.
Madison McKenzie was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 24 points along with 3 steals. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. Peyton White was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.
James Madison's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Gainesville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
James Madison will head out on the road to face off against Langley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Langley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. As for Gainesville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
