After four games on the road, Howard is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Atholton Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Wednesday, Howard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Centennial. Howard has struggled against Centennial recently, as their game on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Atholton pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-58 bruising from Wilde Lake. Atholton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Amir Shaheed, who scored 11 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Inabinet, who scored eight points.
Howard's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Atholton, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Howard beat Atholton 73-60 in their previous meeting back in February. Will Howard repeat their success, or does Atholton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
