Basketball Recap: Northside L's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Northside L took on North Putnam on Thursday. The Northside L Lions fell 54-42 to the North Putnam Cougars. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Northside L still got an impressive performance from JEFFREY WHEELER, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave WHEELER a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of BEN HEASTON, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Northside L smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The defeat snapped Northside L's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-15 record. As for North Putnam, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-14 record this season.

Northside L will welcome Community Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Putnam, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against West Vigo at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
