Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Eagle Pass Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 27-20 to Harlan on Thursday. Eagle Pass' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Eagle Pass still got an impressive performance from Andres Villarreal, who threw for 362 yards and two touchdowns. Jose Hernandez also helped out as he racked up 185 receiving yards.
Eagle Pass' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Harlan, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Eagle Pass does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Harlan is on the road again on Friday and play against Harlingen. Harlingen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 411th, while Harlan is ranked 106th).
