On Thursday, The Hall Titans faced the Maloney Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hall suffered a tough 41-17 loss at the hands of Maloney. Hall's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Hall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bode Smith. Despite the final result, he rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 175 yards and a touchdown.
Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Maloney, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hall will face off against East Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Maloney, they will head out on the road to face off against Southington at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Southington is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
