The North Side Gators will be home for the holidays to greet the Coahoma County Red Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, North Side's good fortune finally ran out last Tuesday. They fell to Greenville 44-40. While losing is never fun, North Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Greenville is ranked 70th).
Meanwhile, Coahoma County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Douglass by a score of 48-46.
Coahoma County's loss came about despite a quality game from Caitlin Hall, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 27 rebounds. Hall scored a full 43.5% of Coahoma County's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
North Side's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Coahoma County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
North Side suffered a grim 35-15 defeat to Coahoma County when the teams last played back in November. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hall, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
