Valley lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Beth Haven at home and fell 87-59. While losing is never fun, Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Beth Haven is ranked 93rd).
Meanwhile, Thomas Nelson had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Monday against Bullitt Central by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65.
Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Thomas Nelson, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-18.
Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Thomas Nelson when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
