Volleyball Recap: Elodie Cook and Briarose Aspden Secure Win for Fairhaven

Fairhaven got their first taste of in-conference action on Monday and they started things off strong. They put the hurt on the West Bridgewater Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Devils yet this season.

While Fairhaven won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-16.

Leading Fairhaven to victory were Briarose Aspden and Elodie Cook. Aspden had nine digs and three aces, while Cook had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Aspden a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Fairhaven was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

Fairhaven pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Bridgewater, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-2.
