Hopewell has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Harding University Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopewell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 303 points over their last four contests.
Hopewell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Berry 85-36 at home. With Hopewell ahead 52-26 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hopewell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derrick Eley, who scored 19 points along with 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Eley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Quay Watson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Harding University sidestepped Providence for a 48-45 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Harding University.
Hopewell pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points per game. As for Harding University, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Hopewell might still be hurting after the 63-39 loss they got from Harding University in their previous meeting back in November of 2019. Thankfully for Hopewell, Logan Blair (who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
