The South Charlotte T Thunder's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Comenius by a score of 74-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (57), South Charlotte T still had to take the loss.
South Charlotte T's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aaron Hill, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten assists, and Luke Rullo who scored 22 points. Rullo scored a full 31% of South Charlotte T's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Will Prevost was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Even though they lost, South Charlotte T were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Comenius only posted 23 assists.
It was another big night for Donovin Jones, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds and four steals for Comenius. The matchup was Jones' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mark Priester, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
South Charlotte T's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-8. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Comenius, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.
South Charlotte T will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chatham HomeSchool at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hopefully Chatham HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Comenius, they will play host again and welcome Greater Cabarrus S, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greater Cabarrus S has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 324 points over their last five matchups.
